A new NBA season is on the horizon, and 2K Games are more than happy to replicate the on-court and off-court experience for gamers as NBA 2K22 is near its release date.
Last week, the developers introduced a feature that was once limited to MyTEAM players and has made it a game-wide feature called “Seasons”.
Players have six weeks to vie for rewards in each “Season,” and there will be unique rewards for dedicated players who get to reach Level 40.
Ranging from cosmetic changes for MyCAREER players to unique packs and high-level players for those who enjoy the card-collecting bonanza that is MyTEAM, NBA 2K22 offers a wealth of new content every six weeks.
Recently, the developers unveiled new innovations that they put in NBA 2K22, and players-- whether new and old--will surely be hooked with the visuals and gameplay.
As every sports fan knows, defense wins championships and NBA 2K22 put an emphasis on that aspect of the ball as they rebuilt the shot contest and blocking systems from the ground up, giving players more incentive to play harder on the grittier aspect of the game.
Defensive AI was also rebuilt and it makes defensive rotations and help-side defense much more realistic, giving fans a more NBA-level feel.
Everybody loves offense and in NBA 2K22, the developers made sure that fans of the game get to enjoy that side of the ball as well.
NBA 2K22 features a New Shot Meter that will dynamically expand when players take high-quality shots with the game’s best shooters.
Conversely, the meter will shrink when faced with a defender, shooting with a low-rated player or there is fatigue.
With an emphasis on Shot IQ, players will be rewarded for passing the ball and working to create open looks for their teammates rather than jacking up shots from deep or when there’s a decent shot contest–a plague that has ravaged NBA 2K for some time now.
Every NBA 2K game has featured iconic dunks that one can pull off in-game, and with the new Dunk Style Creator, players can have a more unique way of attacking the rim.
The Dunk Style Creator allows players to have control over the exact style of their dunk packages, and it lets players add more dunking animations than ever before.
Recreate James Harden and Chris Paul’s iconic handles or create your own flow with the new Dribbling System.
Players will get to experience a much more rhythmic feel when sizing up while navigating the court and especially when creating new dribble combos and move chains.

NBA 2K22 is set to hit store shelves and digital downloads on September 10 for Playstation 5 and Playstation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms.
