When you are about to get to the biggest league, you have to be at the most talked-about team and that is certainly what LaMelo Ball is headed to, according to LaVar Ball.
Reports from the Bleacher Report said that the father of the Ball brothers wants his youngest son to wear the orange and blue. LaMelo is one of the top prospects in this upcoming NBA Draft and the New York Knicks could be on the favorites to get the top lottery pick.
LaVar said in an interview in Skip and Shannon’s Undisputed that it is about time for the Knickerbockers for something good to happen to the franchise – and that is if they will draft his son.
“I know Melo. Melo is a big city guy, he like lights. He likes that,” said LaVar. “I kinda feel they gonna get the first pick on the fact that they missed it so many times and it's time for something good to happen to them."
LaVar credited the skills set that his youngest son possesses by playing guys that are older than him, especially during their tour in Lithuania through JBA. “Now I did the JBA USA Tour, guess what. We play all the European teams with grown folks that wanna beat me,” LaVar said before adding that him telling that teams cannot beat the Ball boys gives an added motivation for other teams to come hard at them.
Along with James Wiseman and North Carolina’s Cole Anthony, LaMelo is one of the projected players to be picked first in the 2020 NBA Draft. The 18-year old tall guard played in Australia’s NBL for the Illawarra Hawks and was a certified crowd-drawer. He made waves in the league by being the youngest player ever to record a triple-double and he did the feat twice in a row. His season, though, was cut short when he got injured and decided to focus on his rehab to prepare himself for the draft.
