  • LeBron James has been one of the more dominant players in the NBA
  • The Dallas Cowboys reportedly offered James a contract back in 2011
  • Doc Rivers believes that LeBron could have been the greatest football player of all time

There is no question that LeBron James is one of the best to ever step foot on the basketball court. There have been recent reports resurfacing of LeBron considering a contract with the Dallas Cowboys back in 2011. This has prompted Doc Rivers to share that the four-time MVP could have been the greatest of all time in football.

When it comes to the basketball court, LeBron has it all under his skill set. The six-foot-eight physical specimen has the strength and physicality to bump inside the paint with the league’s biggest men.

His sheer athleticism is coupled with the finesse and ball-handling ability of an elite guard. Add these traits with a reliable jump shot and elite court vision comprises of LeBron’s complete package.

This has caused the constant debate on whether or not LeBron is better than Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant. This argument has constantly been thrown around and has not met a definite end.

Per Uninterrupted’s Go Off podcast by way of Silver Screen and Roll, Rivers adds a new twist to the LeBron argument by saying he has what it takes to become the best on the field.

“I would put LeBron as the best athlete. I don’t think there has ever been, and Michael was a super athlete and so was Kobe, and so is Kawhi, I don’t know if there has ever been an athlete in our league like LeBron James,” Rivers said.

The champion coach would go on and share that the skills and physique LeBron posses can translate just as well on other sports.

"I really believe that if LeBron James had played football he may have been the greatest football player ever at whatever position,” Rivers added.

Having someone of LeBron’s presence in the NFL can certainly mix things up given how dominant he can be. Rivers continues by saying that he likens James to Karl Malone just to put into perspective how strong LeBron is.

“Karl Malone was a power forward and was looked upon as the biggest, strongest guy in the league. LeBron weighs 10 pounds more than him at the small forward, moving at the speed that he moves at,” Rivers concluded.

While it’s interesting to ponder on how LeBron would fare in the NFL, their main focus now is how they will bounce back in the league once the global pandemic settles down in the next few months.
