The last couple of years have been frustrating for DeMarcus Cousins with the temperamental big man hounded by injuries. After ending the 2017-18 NBA season abruptly with an Achilles injury, Boogie thought that overcoming that would eventually pay off with the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, the injury bug struck again, this time in the form of a quad injury which he suffered during game 2 of the first-round series with the Los Angeles Clippers in April.

Seeing how the Warriors were able to get through the 2018-19 NBA season even with Cousins in the sidelines, the Dubs were expected to hardly miss his services. That was until Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Looney, and Klay Thompson also got their share of injuries, seriously depleting the Golden State roster. Somehow, the lack of firepower showed in game 3 of the NBA Finals and this is something head coach Steve Kerr will have to get through.

Cousins announced his return during game one of the 2018-19 NBA Finals although he played for only eight minutes. The numbers improved a bit in game 2 (11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists) although they went down again in game 3 with Boogie managing only 4 points, 3 rebounds in 19 minutes of action, NBC Sports reported. Seeing however that he is coming off an injury, it seems to be much to ask more from the All-Star center at this point. But then again, the Warriors need all the help they can get with most of their stars ailing.

Ironically, the Dubs are lucky that Cousins did not give up after suffering that quad injury. In another report from ESPN, Cousins admitted that it came to a point where he considered quitting. Frustration on the injuries was mounting on the 28-year-old NBA star although he managed to get himself together and get back to the right frame of mind.

"I was just ready to quit," Cousins said. "Like, throw the towel in. ... Human nature is the first thing. It's like, 'Why? Why me? Why now? What did I do wrong? Why do I deserve this?' And that's not always the case. It's usually [that] it's repaying you for the next moment."

The good news is that the longer the NBA Finals goes, the better it is for the Warriors and Cousins. Boogie is trying to whip himself up to shape -a necessity with Kevin Durant out for game 4 yet again. It won't come as a surprise if Kerr and the coaching staff had talked to him about their predicament - yet another challenge that should motivate the fifth overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft.
