  • Jeremy Lin may return to Asia if no NBA team calls him up
  • Lin may shelve his dream of returning to the NBA
  • Lin wants to continue making an impact in Asian basketball

Jeremy Lin knows that time is not on his side, and there is a chance he may not attain his NBA return dream, at least this season.

But with the resiliency that the 32-year-old has shown in returning to the pro ranks, it appears that he already has an alternative in mind.

If no call comes his way, “Linsanity” appears to be setting his sights on returning to Asia where he wants to continue to make an impact.

This is what the American-Asian has in mind rather than consider a stint in Europe.

"My impact in Asia is something that I feel like I need to continue to work towards," Lin said in a report by Diamond Leung of The Athletic.

Although he did not mention it, Lin could be hinting at a return to the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) if his continued wait falters.

It will be recalled that he was being persuaded to return to the CBA and forego his NBA dream.

Rather than listen, the former NBA champion would hear nothing of it and opted to pass up big money to stay the course.

Lin went the long route, playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G-League. He averaged 19.8 points in nine appearances and was one of the leading scorers for the tournament.

However, it was not enough to get the attention of NBA teams who are now skimming the free-agent market for available talent, particularly the ones preparing for the NBA postseason wars.

Concern about Lin’s ability to stay healthy was seen as one concern. He did miss several games in the G-League, and most felt this would be a factor that NBA teams would consider.

If the CBA is Lin’s next stop, he is likely to end up with the Beijing Ducks once more. However, nothing has been officially announced, but one could be coming soon.
