NBA Rumors: Terry Rozier Could Be Perfect Fit For The Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls are expected to be busy in the offseason, targeting key players available in free agency. One name that cropped up recently was Lonzo Ball although their potential targets are not limited to the Los Angeles Lakers guard. The name of Terry Rozier has now been suggested, someone who seems to be on his way out of Beantown.
If everything falls into place, Rozier becomes the second guard associated with the Bulls. Ball would have made sense but all that would depend on what is on the table. The 21-year-old cager has show signs of brilliance although his shooting has been often gotten criticism. Much of this was covered in a previous post.
In the event that a Ball coming is shot down, the Bulls are not short of alternatives. Rozier is a hard-nosed defensive guard and someone known for his fearless play, the Athletic reported. The fact that he has already hinted of wanting out because he was playing more of a backup to Kyrie Irving somehow indicated that the 25-year-old will be testing the free agent market and be with a new NBA team next season.
However, joining the Bulls is not a sure thing for the 16th pick of the 2015 NBA Draft. Aside from Ball, Chicago is also reportedly interested in the serves of Patrick Beverly who made quite an impression in the NBA playoffs, NBC Sports reported. The Bulls are also likely to weigh things out and see if getting Rozier would be better to Kris Dunn - the guy that will likely be dangled in trade offers to beef up the backcourt of the Bulls.
The fact that the Bulls are interested is only scraping the top of the barrel. There is no question that there are teams who will check out Rozier. Also, there is the Kyrie Irving situation. There is a growing belief that the veteran guard may be on his way out with the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers looming as his leading destinations.
Disappointed with playing behind the shadows of Irving, there is a chance that Rozier may change his mind with the sudden change in rotation. Any team may dangle an offer sheet to the Celtics for Rozier and Boston can easily match that if they so choose. If that happens, the next question is will he stay or eventually be traded to other teams for someone better.
