KEY POINTS

  • Nell may leave in “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 12
  • Roundtree may join the team
  • Kensi and Deeks will plan their future

“NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 12 is supposed to air sometime later this year, but the production is yet to begin. Details about the start of filming may be announced after the quarantine measures end. In the meantime, the producers have been teasing details about what to expect in the story when the show returns.

One of the first things on the show could be about the shakeup of the team. Nell (Renée Felice Smith) has been hinting at leaving, and that may finally happen in Season 12. In a previous interview with TV Guide, co-executive producer Frank Military said that “anything is possible” with this character.

Nell’s potential exit may have something to do with Eric Beale (Barrett Foa). Military teased that this storyline is connected to Eric’s absence on the show previously. The character’s exit opens the door for a new character to join the team, and that could be Roundtree (Caleb Castille).

Roundtree has been setup as a potential candidate to join the team when he was offered a chance to join previously. Military teased that everyone is excited about the new character in “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 12. “ It's exciting to be injecting new blood into the show,” he said and added that he hopes Roundtree says yes to the offer of joining the team.

In an interview with TV Insider, Military pointed out that Roundtree has worked out well for the show. The introduction of the new agent is the producers’ way of bringing in “next generation of characters.” The producers teased that Roundtree will be back on the show, but he didn’t reveal whether the character will join the team.

Another major character who will return is Harmon Rabb Jr. (David James Elliot). The return of “JAG” characters Harmon and Sarah MacKenzie (Catherine Bell) was a big part of the show, and the fans will get to see more of these two characters.

The other big change in “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 12 will be about Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen). The two characters have decided to have a baby and they will now have to figure out what that means for their careers since they are involved in a dangerous line of work, TV Insider reported.
