“NCIS: New Orleans” fans can tune in Tuesday night to see Pride and his team solve a case, but it won’t be a new one. CBS is airing a rerun on Dec. 18.

The “NCIS” spinoff is officially on midseason hiatus. Don’t worry, the southern branch of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service won’t be gone for long. Season 5 will return on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 10 p.m. EST.

The midseason premiere, titled “Vindicta,” will feature Pride’s (Scott Bakula) team going after a “secret and lethal group of former intelligence agents.” The turncoats will be trying to avenge the death of another intelligence officer, but NCIS will have to step in to stop them.

CBS has not revealed if the episode will deal with the death from the midseason finale. In last week’s fall finale, “NCIS: New Orleans” killed off Pride’s father, Cassius (Stacy Keach). Fans will have to tune in to see how the leader is coping with his dad’s death.

Until the Jan. 8 episode, there will be reruns in the usual Tuesday night slot. Tonight, there will be a rerun of an episode from last year titled “Hard Knock Life.” When homeless children are murder suspects, Pride questions the evidence. The episode also features an appearance from the band X Ambassadors.
