Neil Patrick Harris Oscar Jokes 2015: NPH Makes 'Balls' Joke After Suicide Announcement

Halfway into the 2015 Oscars at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California, host Neil Patrick Harris was doing a standup job making viewers laugh Sunday night. One of the biggest chuckles came after Ellen Goosenberg Kent and Dana Perry won the Oscar for best documentary short subject for their film "Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1."

Perry made a serious announcement about her son, who died of suicide, and even rushed Kent so she would have enough time to speak, but NPH couldn’t take his eyes off Perry’s balls-- the ones that were on her dress, that is.

The person in charge of the Oscar music might have stopped the cutoff so Perry would have a little more time to talk about her son, but Harris wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to make fun of her dress.

“Wow, I like that dress,” he said. “It takes a lot of balls to wear a dress like that.” He paused for a brief moment to let the joke sink in. It should be noted that Perry’s black dress had several puffy balls hanging from it. They looked like the pom-poms from the top of someone’s winter hat.

Naturally, Twitter was quick to share the quote. Many people thought the joke was hilarious. Some of their posts have been shared below:
