Is NeNe Leakes Coming Back To ‘RHOA’? Andy Cohen Could Spark Cast Return
NeNe Leakes is open to returning to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” more than a year after announcing her exit from the Bravo reality series.
Leakes appeared on the Thursday episode of “The Real,” where she revealed she was willing to return to “RHOA” if certain conditions were met.
“Yeah, sure, I’ll return to the show,” she said. “I’m OK with returning to the show, as long as, you know, we can work through a few things. I’m happy to return to the show and besides, I have a lot of unfinished business with a couple of them they confirmed on the show.”
Leakes revealed she would specifically like to sit down with Andy Cohen, the executive producer of the “Real Housewives” franchise, to clear the air.
“I think Andy and I were really close for a really, really long time, and I love [his son, Ben] Benny Boo,” Leakes explained.
“I helped pay for his baby shower and all those things. I think that Andy and I need to have a sit down and talk, and then we’re off to the races.”
Last September, Leakes’ hinted at a rift in her relationship with the “Watch What Happens Live” host.
After announcing her departure from the reality series, Leakes shared a tweet calling out Cohen and Bravo over cutting back on the number of episodes she appeared in.
“My white counter parts were elevated and given full season episodes EVERY season. Each season I was given less & less. Don't ask me, @ Andy and @ Bravo, and ask them why,” she tweeted at the time.
Leakes announced her exit from the series on Sept. 17, 2020 in a video on YouTube, ahead of “RHOA” Season 13.
“It wasn’t an easy decision for me. It was hard. I started on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ in 2008. We took off like a rocket. I mean, we took off. You could have never told me that I would start on this little show, and it still be going strong 13, 14 years later. And it is,” she said.
“I’m just so happy that I can say that I was a part of a genre that opened up doors for Black ensemble reality shows to step up and be a part of what we all now love so much, reality TV.”
