NeNe Leakes And Kim Zolciak-Biermann's 'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Spinoff Series Canceled
It looks like NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak-Biermann won't be reuniting after all. The pair previously starred on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" together. Although they began the show as friends, it wasn't long before the pair became enemies. Bravo planned to bring the two back together in a spinoff series titled "The Road to Riches" as they had reconciled their differences over the years. Unfortunately, those plans appear to have changed.
TMZ reports that the show has been axed before even getting an official premiere date. Sources close to the reality series say NeNe and Kim simply couldn't fit filming into their busy schedules. NeNe, who announced her departure from "RHOA" on June 29, is currently hard at work on ABC's revival of the game show "To Tell the Truth." Meanwhile Kim, who is the mother of six children, is said to be filming her Bravo series "Don't Be Tardy."
"The Road to Riches" was announced in March. It was slated to follow NeNe and Kim as they packed their bags and headed out on the open road together in search of adventure. According to the show's description with each new city the ladies would be pushed outside their cushy comfort zones. As People magazine reported, the network promised that the former frenemies would "occasionally drive each other crazy" along the way as well.
While Kim has been out of the "Real Housewives" circuit for some time now, NeNe only recently made her departure official. The 47-year-old recently shared a statement with People revealing why she had decided not to continue on with the series. As previously reported, Bravo has extended an open invitation to her to return to the show whenever she would like, however NeNe has made it very clear that, while she may return in the future, she will not appear on the show in any capacity this year.
