NeNe Leakes got candid about her son Brentt's sexuality following the speculations that he recently came out as gay on TikTok.
The former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star made a guest appearance on "Breakfast Club" Monday, and she set the record straight (no pun intended) about the rumors involving her 23-year-old son.
According to the 55-year-old TV personality, the rumors started when Brentt posted a video on TikTok showing him doing a viral trend where he attempted to throw a ball of paper into a trash can.
"If I miss, I'm gay," read the caption of his video. He failed to shoot the ball into the can, so he snapped his fingers before walking away from the camera. Many quickly assumed that it was his way of coming out as gay to his followers.
"Brentt came out. Congratulations," one wrote.
"Congratulations for coming out and having [the courage] to speak your truth," another added.
"Not sure if this was intentional or just a joke. Either way, I'm OK with it," a different user commented.
Leakes said that after Brentt shared the video on Saturday, he received a lot of "concerned" calls from his friends. The latter then phoned his mom to talk to her about the issue.
"He called me up and was like, 'Mom, everybody is asking if I'm gay because I did this TikTok thing.' And I said, 'It's OK if you are gay. It's fine with me.' And he was like, 'OK, mom, I'm not gay,'" she explained, as quoted by Page Six.
The "Glee" actress told host Charlamagne tha God that her son's sexuality did not matter to her. She said the "most important thing" was Brentt's happiness.
"I don't need to ask him, 'Are you gay?' What I like to say to people is ... 'Whatever makes you happy.' If my son today says he's gay, I'm 100% OK with it," she added.
Last month, Brentt made headlines when he showed off his 100-pound weight loss after suffering a stroke. He took to Instagram to share photos and a video clip showing his fans and followers his new look.
"Focus on you until The focus is you. #100poundsdown," he captioned the post, which featured before and after snaps of his weight loss transformation.
