Netflix Joins Disney In The Pursuit To Hire Meghan Markle
Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided to leave their royal duties behind, questions of what they will do next are being asked. It seems Markle, a former actress, may have one or two prospects with the popular streaming service Netflix, along with Disney.
While it remains unclear what the former royal couple’s next move is, the doors seem to be opening wide for them. At an event in Los Angeles, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos told the Television Critics Press Association in regards to working with Prince Harry and Markle: “Who wouldn’t be interested?”
According to Western Telegraph, this deal sounds similar to the deal made with the former president of the United States and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama. The Obamas currently have a production deal with Netflix, in which they are signed on to make an unspecified number of TV shows and films.
The news of the royal couple’s Netflix collaboration comes shortly after similar talks between Prince Harry, Markle, and Disney Studios. When Prince Harry last encountered Disney CEO Bob Iger, he informed her that the former Duchess Markle is also a voice actress and would be more than happy to join in on one of their family-friendly animated films, according to Harper's Bazaar.
Markle has apparently already signed on for her deal with Disney, with the mega-corporation donating to an elephant charity in lieu of a paycheck.
Markle previously has had quite a bit of experience in the entertainment industry as an actress. She had a leading role in the USA Network show “Suits” and was also known as one of the mystery briefcase holders on “Deal or No Deal.”
