Netflix Movies List: 7 Football Films, Documentaries To Watch Before Super Bowl 2017
We’re only a few days away from Super Bowl LI, but if you want to get into the football spirit before the big game, you can head to Netflix to watch a few football-themed movies. Although many classic football films have been taken off the streaming service, there are still a couple available including a number of documentaries.
1. “Undefeated” – The documentary follows high school football coach Bill Courtney as he tries to turn his Manassas Tigers team into a winning program after years of losing.
2. “Catching Faith” – After he starts drinking, Beau (Garrett Westton) has to rely on his faith and family or he’ll lose his spot on the football team.
3. “The Roughnecks” – The love for football begins at a very young age. This documentary follows a pee-wee football league’s championship game.
4. “Happy Valley” – Not every football story is a feel-good one. In 2011, longtime Penn State defensive coordinator, Jerry Sandusky, was charged with 40 counts of child sex abuse. The documentary details the events as they began and what followed.
5. “Two Days in April” – Before any NFL player can make it to the Super Bowl, they have to go through the NFL Draft Weekend. “Two Days in April” follows four NFL prospects as they prepare for the 2006 NFL Draft.
6. “Marvel & ESPN Films Present: 1 of 1: Genesis” – This Marvel and ESPN documentary explores how superheroes like Captain America and Spider-Man inspire real life athletes.
7. “The Last Fall” – At just 25 years old, Kyle (Lance Gross) is forced to retire from the NFL. Following his sudden retirement, Kyle realizes starting a new life isn’t easy.
