Amber Rose's new single Fame featuring her boyfriend Wiz Khalifa has dropped this morning, already drawing mixed reactions from listeners. The 28-year-old model gave PerezHilton.com the privilege of having the first listen to the new track.

I don't know who's singing is worse Amber Rose's or Kim Kardashian's, one user tweeted, referencing Kardashian's song Turn it Up.

Another said: Listening to Amber Rose's song. Not bad.

Fellow celeb Russell Simmons, however, congratulated her, writing, congrats to my good friend @DaRealAmberRose on her first record. very proud of her.

The song has been called upbeat, piano-driven and beat-focused among other names, but one thing is for certain with this track: Rose wants to shed some light on the ingrained perception many have of celebrity life.

In the track, she lends her first-hand account of the ups and the downs of being famous, saying that the dream of the glamorous life most want to fulfill isn't what it's really made out to be.

I have my own unique sound, I make music that I love and I hope that my fans and the people that embrace me will love it also, said Rose to MTV.com.

Rose also said that a supportive Wiz Khalifa has played an instrumental role in her decision to pursue music. However, he didn't hear her new single until it was already complete.

I made the entire song and then sent it to him, Rose said. He was overseas on tour at the time. He thought the track was dope and I asked him if he would be on it. He said 'definitely.'

Fame isn't the end of the road for Rose, though. According to MTV.com, it's just the start to a full-length project.

I've taken vocal lessons and I'm working on my album, but right now I'm in the beginning phases and I'm just taking my time, Rose said.
