New Android Theme For Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge Approved By Samsung
With the release of the latest Samsung Galaxy S6 series of devices, the South Korean tech giant has introduced a slew of changes to the TouchWiz UI, which runs on top of Android Lollipop OS. But then, the standout aspect of the new Touch Wiz UI is the ability to quickly change the display theme of the handset, within a few button clicks.
Needless to say, the display themes specific to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge are available online in abundance. However, according to Phone Arena, none of the available themes look close to the appearance of the stock Android UI. This is where Sam Mobile comes into play. This tech website has uploaded a slew of images of an upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 theme. This new theme reportedly looks like the stock Android user interface seen in the Google Nexus smartphone lineup.
As it turns out, the fresh stock Android-like theme was apparently designed by the prominent designer Samer Zayer. This theme comes packed with near-stock icons, in addition to a layout that resembles the themes in Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 6. However, it is worth noting that the new display theme in focus is currently not available in the official Theme Store.
The user interface is reportedly not a replica of the stock Android. For example, the quick toggles apparently feature a different layout, even though they employ the same icons seen in the stock Android. Nevertheless, the overall stock Android look and feel is guaranteed with the new theme, notes Phone Arena. In addition, the pre-installed stock apps that come with the smartphone, namely Messages, Clock, Dialer and Calculator, along with Settings have reportedly been made to look similar to the stock Android.
In the meantime, Sam Mobile says, Samer Zayer’s near-stock Android theme has reportedly been approved by Samsung. If any Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge owners are looking for a vanilla Android theme, this could be the one. However, S6 owners may have to wait a little longer to download the same from the Theme Store. Interested readers can check out images of the new theme from Sam Mobile.
