‘New Girl' To Be Canceled After Season 6?
“New Girl” star Jake Johnson recently hinted on the possibility of the FOX sitcom being axed after Season 6.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, the actor revealed that the network hasn’t made a decision yet regarding the show’s future. However, he feels that a seventh season will no longer happen. “FOX won’t tell us if whether the show will be renewed, but we shot a finale where, if this was the end, the core fan based would be OK,” he said.
On his Twitter account, Johnson clarified his statements by saying that he is not sure whether or not he and his co-stars will be tapped to return to Season 7. He added that they were told the sitcom has a 50-50 chance.

According to TV Line, “New Girl” Season 7 may still be a go since majority of the shows on FOX haven’t received orders for renewal or cancellation. On the other hand, a cancellation may also be underway since “New Girl” has struggled with its ratings throughout Season 6. Its latest episode, which aired on Feb. 28, only drew 2.2 million viewers and a 0.9 rating. The final episode of “New Girl” is expected to air on April 4.
Meanwhile, “New Girl” Season 6, episode 21 will air on March 28 at 8 p.m. EST. “San Diego” will revolve around Jess (Deschanel) spending time with her dad (Rob Reiner) in Portland. While there, the two will help each other with their respective relationship woes. Elsewhere, Nick (Johnson) turns to Aly (Nasim Pedrad) for help with regards to his relationship with Reagan (Megan Fox).
