New 'Hunger Games' Portrait Teases Strong Relationship Between Katniss And Prim Ahead Of 'Mockingjay Part 2'
A new “Hunger Games” portrait has been released from an upcoming photography book that celebrates the futuristic series, based on the best-selling books by Suzanne Collins. “Tim Palen: Photographs From the Hunger Games” will be available on July 29. Palen, an award-winning fine art photographer, also serves as Lionsgate Films' chief marketing officer. As most "Hunger Games" fans are aware, Lionsgate is the studio behind the massively popular movie franchise.
The book will contain portraits of the Lionsgate film series’ entire cast as their onscreen characters -- from Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinke to Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark. The newest poster, which was released by Vanity Fair, features main protagonist Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, and her younger sister, Primrose Everdeen, played by Willow Shields.
Many fans of the “Hunger Games” franchise believe that the relationship between Katniss and Prim is the most important one of the series -- Katniss volunteers as tribute to save Prim in the first film. She also thinks about her while participating in the deadly annual contest. Meanwhile, Prim shows love and admiration for her older sister.
“The Sister Portrait” will debut at the Cannes Film Festival this week. The book will also feature an introduction written by Vanity Fair West Coast editor Krista Smith.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2" will be the final installment of the film series. The film will reach theaters on Nov. 15.
