In recent weeks, fans of "Jeopardy!" have not been able to see new episodes of the Alex Trebek-hosted trivia show. In the meantime, those that tuned in were instead met with older episodes, such as several that featured champion Ken Jennings' initial run on the program. However, that is about to change in the near future.

According to Vulture, new episodes of "Jeopardy!" are set to return on May 18 and will run until June 12. While half of the new episodes will feature regular gameplay, the other half will feature the annual Teachers Tournament.

As noted by the publication, all of the upcoming shows were filmed in March prior to the coronavirus pandemic. Following the COVID-19 outbreak, "Jeopardy!", along with "Wheel of Fortune," opted to make a specific change to their tapings as they attempted to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus prior to shutting down production.

In addition to the aforementioned news, those who work on the game show also confirmed that "in the coming weeks" fans will also be able to learn what the summer schedule will hold.

Aside from the return of the quiz show, "Jeopardy!" has continued to entertain fans in other ways in recent months. Not only were new episodes added to Netflix earlier this year, but a contestant's never-before-seen behavior on the show also surprised Trebek himself.

Additionally, the longtime host recently announced that he is releasing an autobiography on July 21 titled "The Answer Is…: Reflections on My Life." Leading up to its release, publisher Simon & Schuster shared what readers can expect to learn in the new book. According to the company, Trebek will delve into a range of topics, including why he shaved his signature mustache, what he thinks about both Jennings and fellow champion James Holzhauer, and how he views Will Ferrell's "Saturday Night Live" impression of him.

"Jeopardy!" airs weeknights. Check your local listings.
