KEY POINTS

  • Seventeen is the highest-ranking K-pop artist on the Billboard World Chart this week
  • NCT 127 and Kingdom also ranked on the chart
  • Rookie Girl group DreamNote ranked at No. 10 with the track "Ghost"

Eleven new K-pop tracks appeared in some coveted spots on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales this week. The list tallies the best-selling international singles sold in the U.S.

Artists like Psy, BTS and Blackpink paved the way for K-pop to triumph in the international music scene. Thanks to the influence of these K-pop idols, a total of 11 new K-pop songs debuted on the list for the first time this week which is considered more than usual, as per Koreaboo.

The highest-ranking song to debut on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart is “Rock With You” by boyband Seventeen. “Rock With You,” the title track from the boyband’s new album “Attacca,” debuted at No. 5 and is one of the six songs from the 13-member group that ranked in the chart this week.

“Rock With You” is an upbeat interpretation of a young lover’s desire to be with the object of someone's affection despite the odds. The idea is best portrayed in the English-translated verses: “Baby hold on/Baby hold on/Wherever we are/Baby hold on/ Baby hold on/No matter where we are/Even if the world is ending/I wanna ride with you.”

Further down the chart at No. 15 is Seventeen’s catchy tune, “To You” also from the album “Attaca. This is followed by members Joshua and Vernon’s duet, “2 Minus 1” at No. 18 which is closely followed by “Crush” at No. 19. “Imperfect Love” comes in at No. 22 and finally, “I Can’t Run Away” squeezed itself at No. 25.

The group has been introducing a slew of hits since it was formed in 2015. Seventeen has placed its highest-ranking song on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart at No. 2 in 2016 with the song, “Very Nice.”

The second-highest charting song on the list this week is from rookie group Kingdom with their new single, “Black Crown.” The track, which is the title cut from the boyband’s third mini-album: “History of Kingdom: Part III Ivan,” ranked at No. 7. This is the second time the septet found their way into this chart after “Karma” peaked at No. 8 last July.

Also, NCT 127 has three new songs that ranked on the chart this week. Favorite (Vampire)” from their repackaged album, “Favorite” ranked at No. 8 this week. This is followed by “Love on the Floor” which debuted at No. 17, and “Pilot” which is ranked at No. 23.

NCT 127’s “Simon Says” is still their highest-ranking track in the chart that peaked at No. 1 in 2018.

Finally, the Rookie girl group, DreamNote made their debut on the chart this week with their song, “Ghost” at No. 10.
