HMD Global, the Finland-based Nokia brand licensee, is looking to add new exciting features for its latest brand of Nokia smartphones. The Finnish company is, reportedly, working on a waterfall display feature that gives 100 percent screen-to-body ratio, similar to what we have seen on Huawei Mate 30 Pro.

Renders and rumors about this upcoming Nokia smartphone have already been leaked and reported on some Chinese social media sites. The latest rumors said the new handset will come with a powerful Qualcomm mobile processor and a new Penta-lens camera setup on the back, which suggests that the phone might be the successor to the previously launched Nokia 9 PureView smartphone.

According to reports, the latest concept render shows an improved design featuring a waterfall display that curves along the sides to give the new handset a nearly bezel-like look, just like the other modern brands of smartphones. The upcoming device has already been rumored to feature a 6.1-inches frameless Super AMOLED QuadHD+ display and comes with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ mobile processor along with Andreno 640 GPU, a 16-megapixel main camera and 35-megapixel front selfie shooter.

At the top of the new device, the bezels are kept to a bare minimum, with a strip of a bezel at the top housing all the sensors, the front camera, and the earpiece. The bottom bezels, on the other hand, are razor-thin, which gives the new handset a neat and premium look being all glass and screen upfront.

At the back of the new handset, the render also shows off a Penta-camera set-up -- like the one from the previous Nokia 9 PureView handset -- along with what looks like a laser autofocus and periscope lens. There is also a circular mode that looks quietly similar to the round module introduced in the latest OnePlus 7T smartphone. Based on the latest render, the new device features five cameras set up along with the Zeiss brand. To the sides of the module resides an LED flash with an ambiance sensor and a #d Time of Flight (ToF) sensor.

The new device features a clean design layout with a USB-C port and a single speaker grille. Unfortunately, for some, the phone will not have a headphone jack.

The upcoming smartphone was earlier rumored to be introduced at IFA 2019. However, did not happen due to some technical reasons. The company is rumored to reveal the new handset at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020, just similar to how it revealed the Nokia 9 PureView at this year’s MWC 2019.

While there still no official confirmation coming from HMD Global, it is advised to consider these latest renders only as concept images or an early concept render of the company's latest Nokia 9 PureView smartphone. Stay tuned for more Nokia updates.
