New 'Star Wars Battlefront 2' Trailer Shows All The Maps, Multiplayer Modes
EA has released a new trailer for “Star Wars Battlefront 2” and it appears to confirm all the game modes and maps for the upcoming sci-fi shooter. EA has also released the minimum PC requirements for the upcoming Beta, which will commence next weekend.
The brand new trailer for “Star Wars Battlefront 2” is being narrated by actor John Boyega, who plays Finn in “The Force Awakens” and the upcoming “The Last Jedi” films. The five-minute trailer shows off some new footage, as well as some infographics showing that “Battlefront 2” will indeed have three times the number of locations and vehicles of the 2015 “Battlefront” game. The trailer also touts the new single-player campaign mode, which was actually what Boyega was asking from the 2015 game.
Prequel-era maps that will be part of “Battlefront 2” are Kamino, Kashyyyk and Theed, while the Original Trilogy-era maps are Death Star II, Endor, Mos Eisley, Yavin 4 and Hoth. Maps from “The Force Awakens” will also be available in “Battlefront 2,” which are Starkiller Base, Jakku and Takodana.
For online Multiplayer Modes, “Star Wars Battlefront 2” will have two large-scale modes: the 40-player Galactic Assault, and the 24-player Starfighter Assault, accoridng to GameSpot. The new trailer also highlighted other game modes like Strike, Blast and Heroes vs. Villains.
For those interested in just playing offline, “Star Wars Battlefront 2” will also have a new Arcade mode, which is playable in solo or in split-screen so that a second player can join co-op or in versus battles.
“Arcade is a new mode allowing you to take on AI enemies and hone your skills across a variety of scenarios. In the Beta, you’ll have two options: a 10-on-10 team battle with AI allies and enemies, and a Hero vs. many scenario where you’ll take control of Darth Maul and fight against legions of foes on Naboo,” Sony stated on the PlayStation Blog.
“In the full release, you’ll be able to bring the Star Cards, weapons, and unlocked abilities from multiplayer with you into Arcade. Apply your favorite fine-tuned hero and class builds against AI opponents and test out new strategies before trying them online.”
Arcade battles are also customizable. Players will be able to adjust the difficulty, trooper classes of the AI and more. Players will also be able to setup Battle Scenarios to practice specific skills.
