New ‘Star Wars Battlefront’ DLC Arrives On PSVR Dec. 6
The final DLC pack for Star Wars Battlefront, which is themed on the upcoming Rogue One, arrives for season pass owners on Dec. 6, EA announced Friday.
EA previously said the DLC, named Rogue One: Scarif , would arrive in December but didn’t give too many details. It’s no surprise to see the Battlefront expansion arrive, especially with Rogue One be released on Dec. 16.
The latest Battlefront DLC brings new maps and two new heroes - Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic - which are inspired by the Dec. 16 movie. It also brings a new “multi-stage game mode with space and ground combat.”
EA also provided a release date for the free Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission DLC for PS4. This PlayStation VR mode lets anyone with a VR headset and copy of the game jump into the X-Wing and try to destroy Death Star.
Today celebrates the one-year anniversary of Battlefront’s release. To help celebrate, from now until Nov. 20, Battlefront owners can play the first three DLC packs for free. That includes the Death Star-themed expansion, which was released back in September.
Earlier this week, EA released a new trailer for Star Wars Battlefront: Ultimate Edition, featuring all four DLC packs from the game’s one year release, and includes a first look at the new Rogue One DLC.
Star Wars Battlefront allows players to live out a wide range of heroic moments and intense battles - firing blasters, riding speeder bikes and snow speeders, commanding AT-ATs and piloting Millennium Falcon. The battles take place on some of the most popular planets in the Star Wars universe, including Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and the unexplored planet, Sullust. Gamers can also play as some of the hottest characters from the original trilogy such as Darth Vader and Boba Fett. Star Wars Battlefront features competitive multiplayer, different types of battles and missions that can be played solo or with a friend via split-screen or in co-op mode online.
