A beautiful new Tesla Model Y prototype was spotted sporting a dual-motor badge along with a new Gemini wheel kit. Last March, the electric vehicle maker officially unveiled the Tesla Model Y, which is an electric crossover based on the Tesla Model 3. in the second half of 2018, the crossover vehicle has been spotted several times doing public road tests.
The Tesla Model Y prototype sightings increased with different vehicles mostly seen on the West Coast and California. However, earlier this month, another Tesla Model Y prototype was seen in Florida. Steven Conroy, recently shared that he spotted another white Tesla Model Y prototype in California. This time, it sports a dual-motor badge and a new Gemini wheel kit.
The electric vehicle maker announced the Tesla Model Y Performance version with acceleration ranging from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. This particular version will feature a 280-mile range on one charge. In addition to the badge, the Tesla Model Y prototype sports the recently released Gemini wheel kit, which was for Tesla Model 3 Performance. The prototype also features a chrome delete on the window trims and door handle.
Tesla, during the official unveiling of the Tesla Model Y, said that it plans to begin the production of the vehicle in the fall of 2020. Tesla since then ramped up the Tesla Model Y production program. Tesla Ceo Elon Musk shared that the production of Tesla Model Y might start by mid-2020, which is just a few months from now.
So far, the recently spotted Tesla Model Y prototype is the best prototype. The proportions are stunning with the chrome delete looking sharp. While some critics claim that the Tesla Model Y looks a lot like the Tesla Model 3, maybe it’s just that the design of Model 3 translates beautifully on the compact electric SUV from Tesla.
Meanwhile, a new patent filed by Tesla reveals that it is working on new chemistry to produce a more affordable, longer-lasting, and better battery for its electric vehicles. Tesla has long been wanting to have a battery that could offer for its electric vehicles one million miles life-span.
