Even though "Wonder Woman 1984" is slated for a June 5, 2020 release date, some have already gotten a firsthand look at what's included in the new superhero film. What does the future hold for Diana Prince and Steve Trevor?

According to IGN, on Tuesday, WarnerMedia debuted a brief clip of the upcoming movie at the HBO Max presentation. This comes ahead of the release of the first official trailer, which is set to arrive in December.

Per the publication, most of the footage that the lucky attendees were allowed to see was set in Washington DC. Even though viewers saw Diana and Steve Trevor walking in front of the Washington Monument, everything may not have been as it seemed. This is due to the fact that over the footage Diana was heard saying, "I can almost see it, like a beautiful dream," which suggested that this may be a flashback of sorts.

However, a second scene showing Diana protecting Steve from gunfire inside the White House likely gave viewers a bit of hope as to whether or not he is alive in this second film. In the new fight scene, Wonder Woman was seen wearing armor, unloading a gun in slow-motion, and using her lasso as a way to capture enemies.

IGN also noted Diana used her lasso to "possibly deflect or redirect a bolt of lightning." That has led to some speculation that she could be battling Zeus in the new film.

Earlier this year, conflicting reports emerged that reported there were potential hurdles behind the scenes. This was attributed to several reshoots taking place, but others stated that reshoots are standard on movies of this size. At this time, it remains unclear what difficulties, if any, this newest "Wonder Woman" installment truly faced.

"Wonder Woman 1984" will open in theaters on June 5, 2020.
