The New X-Factor Host Caroline Flack Says She Has 'No Regrets' About Dating Harry Styles

Caroline Flack took a trip down memory lane and said she has no regrets that she once dated One Direction's Harry Styles. Their relationship happened four years ago when she started “The Xtra Factor.”

“I'm not going to ever apologize for it because there was nothing at the time that was serious or bad and nobody was getting hurt," the English television presenter told the Daily Telegraph in a recent interview. Styles was 17 years old at that time, while she was in her early 30s. It was the first time she received the media attention.

Flack also told the website that she does understand why people are so interested in the lives of celebrities. “I can see why people go, 'Ooh, look at that!’ I’ve been there, I’ve been like, 'Oh my God! So and so’s going out with so and so!’ ”

In her previous interview about her relationship with Styles, the 35-year-old said that “it was just really fun to hang out” with him. She was sure that there was no future to their relationship. The “Strictly Come Dancing” star received hate mail from the fans of the One Direction hunk, but it did not bother her. She was also quite calm when they broke up. However, the two are still friends.

She also considered dating Olly Murs, her partner in the show “The Xtra Factor.” The new “X Factor” host said she considered the option to date Murs, but “there's always been a barrier” between the two, even though they have been together since 2011. The duo “couldn't ever cross that line” in the past and do not want to do it in future, but they often end up laughing about it.

She also told the website that she appreciates the confidence with which Murs works and wishes she could have that. However, she is not dating anyone and is “as single as single can be.” Currently, she is focusing on her stint in “The X Factor.”
