‘A New Year’s Resolution’ Hallmark Movie Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis, Cast

The New Year is continuing to usher in a brand-new batch of Hallmark movies, with the newest premiere, “A New Year’s Resolution,” starring Aimee Teegarden and Michael Rady, set to air on Saturday night.

The film will be a treat for Hallmark fans, as they likely recognize Rady from his large body of work for the channel, as well as Teegarden, who starred in the 2018 film “Once Upon A Christmas Miracle.” She is also likely well-known for her roles as Nikki on “The Ranch,” Ella Benjamin on “Notorious” and Julie Taylor on “Friday Night Lights.”

As for Rady, he has starred in recent years in the films “Christmas in Homestead,” “A Joyous Christmas,” “Christmas at Pemberley Manor,” “Love to the Rescue,” “Two Turtle Doves,” “You’re Bacon Me Crazy,” and “The Christmas Bow.” Other roles have included Coleman Wasserman on “UnREAL,” Lachlan Moore on “Jane the Virgin” and Kostas in the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” movies.

So what can fans expect when these two team up for their first project together? According to a synopsis, an experiment to start trying new things could have some unintended effects.

“Local Milwaukee morning show producer Kelly Leone (Teegarden) makes a New Year’s resolution that she cannot say no to any social invitation for a full month,” the synopsis reads. “When she reluctantly agrees to become the subject of her show’s month-long on-air experiment about the resolution, Kelly really goes outside her comfort zone and participates in all kinds of activities and events she would normally decline.”

However, as her experiments continually put her in the path of a familiar face, Kelly winds up finding the one thing she never expected to gain from the project—love.

“The one thing she never counted on, however, is the possibility of falling in love with charismatic businessman Tom Malone (Rady),” the synopsis concludes.

“A New Year’s Resolution” premieres Saturday, Jan. 9 at 9 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
