New York Fashion Week: Country Singer Carrie Underwood Showcases New Activewear Line
Country music singer Carrie Underwood showcased her new fitness and lifestyle line at the New York Fashion Week fall edition Thursday. Her new range made its debut at The HQ, a custom pop-up shop that allows people to buy outfits from the collection on-the-spot.
The singer helped the guests pick designs from her Calia by Carrie Underwood line that made its debut in March. The entire runway show was an interactive shopping experience for the attendees.
“We just wanted everything to be fun and energetic, and I feel like we definitely accomplished that. It was nice to kick off fashion week in a fun way and hopefully make everyone smile,” said Underwood. She added that usually people have to wait to buy the collections that are presented on the runway. But, the singer on her part wanted her collection to be available to her guests.
Models sashayed down the runway in a whole lot of great patterns, rich and vibrant colored leggings, cosy sweaters, scarves and gym bags. They also posed in the outfits. The 32-year-old, who is used to sitting in front row at various fashion weeks, has tied up with retailer, Dick’s Sporting Goods, to exclusively sell her collection.
The seven-time Grammy winner and “American Idol” alum was dressed in her own design for the show. Underwood opted for a pair of black leggings and a slouchy striped top. She accessorized with two chunky gold bangles, ring and hoop earrings. She also wore a big silver chain and pendant.
She topped off her casual look with gold metallic Ruthie Davis wedge sneakers that featured white lace-up detailing. From beneath her peep toes, she showed off her dark brown pedicure and flashed a matching manicure. Her make-up included smoky eye make-up and high gloss lips. The 32-year-old new mom styled her long blonde tresses in beachy waves with a side part.
The singer even took to Instagram and shared a collage of pictures from the show.
According to “Smoke Break” singer, Calia bridges the gap between functional workout clothes and regular wear. The affordable line features designs that can transform from the gym to a casual outing outfit. The line features capris and pants ranging from $60 to $85 and $30 to $35, respectively.
