  • The Titans could end the Belichick-Brady era this weekend
  • Belichick remains mum on his plans after this NFL season
  • Brady is set to become a free agent after this NFL season

The New England Patriots face the Tennessee Titans on Saturday at the Gillette Stadium in what is expected to be an explosive NFL matchup. The AFC Wild Card duel is a close one to call although the Titans have been given the smallest of chances to prevail.

Of course, the Patriots are not expected to roll over easy. Regardless of the forecast that Oddshark.com gave (24.3-24.1 in favor of Tennessee), it would be best never to underestimate the heart of a champion. New England is the defending Super Bowl champion, meaning the Titans need to show up and play their best football.

On the side of the Pats, two figures are in the spotlight - head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. A loss could potentially end the celebrated Belichick-Brady era, one that dates back to 2001. At 42, there is no telling what lies ahead for Brady. Belichick, on the other hand, has made no assurance that he will return in 2020. Could it be the last ride for the two?

In a report from TMZ Sports, someone asked the 67-year-old coach up straight on whether Saturday's game would be the Belichick-Brady finale. He responded bluntly as one can see below.

"Yeah, we're focused on the Titans. That's really -- that's all I'm focused on. So, do everything we can to get ready to go and play the best game we can play Saturday night," said Belichick.

As for Brady, he did mention in the past that he would prefer to play until his 45. However, that depends on whether the Pats or any other team re-sign him at season's end. He is set to become a free agent and Brady does have options. The six-time Super Bowl champion could choose to call it a career or go on playing, Yahoo Sports reported.

The only thing certain right now is that the Belichick-Brady era will continue with a win over the Titans. If they hurdle Tennessee, up next would be the Kansas City Chiefs - a team which they would need to upset and more. A loss would end New England season - something that will certainly open a big can of worms pertaining to the future of Belichick and Brady.
