KEY POINTS

  • Buccaneers serious about getting Brady on board
  • Brady still weighing options
  • Patriots are still best spot for Brady per critics

NFL free agency is fast approaching and one of the players being monitored is Tom Brady. The 42-year-old has not indicated where he would be playing next season even if many believe he would best finish his career with the New England Patriots.

Despite his age and so-so performance last NFL season, multiple teams have expressed interest in the six-time Super Bowl champion. The Las Vegas Raiders are one but the latest NFL team reportedly making an aggressive push is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to a report from the Tampa Bay Times, the Bucs are going all-in on Brady. In fact, coach Bruce Arians and general manager Jason Licht are heavily preparing for it and willing to do whatever it takes to land the four-time NFL Super Bowl MVP.

The only question now is will a lucrative offer finally satisfy what Brady wants moving forward? If team composition is concerned, Brady will be in good company. He would have Mike Evans to work with, one of the best receivers in the league to date. However, the two would have to mesh and the adjustment phase is what critics are wary about.

In a previous post, it was mentioned how the Raiders were ready to double down and hand Brady a two-year $60 million deal. The Patriots were only willing to offer the 3-time NFL MVP a one-year deal although Robert Kraft could change that offer at any time. There is still no official word on what the Buccaneers will be pitching to Brady.

Hence, the coming weeks should be interesting. Brady has put up several social media posts, each sending followers into a frenzy. Some believe it would be best for him to stay with the Pats and finish his career with the only team he has played for thus far. At his age, moving and trying to acclimatize with a new team could be risky and he could end up with a worse situation.

Brady drew his share of criticism last NFL season. He was hardly a factor and most saw him fading in terms of efficiency. But it appears that has not turned off other NFL teams - including the Pats. A big decision will be made soon and NFL fans are eager to find out.
