  • The New England Patriots will enter the upcoming season without their franchise quarterback Tom Brady
  • The Buffalo Bills have upgraded their roster with promising draft picks and wide receiver Stefon Diggs
  •  The Buffalo Bills are predicted to overtake the New England Patriots in the AFC East Division

The current NFL offseason has been nothing short of eventful. With the new direction the New England is headed, the Buffalo Bills are predicted to overtake the Patriots in the AFC East division.

The succeeding few months will take a lot of getting used to as the Patriots will play without their star quarterback Tom Brady after two decades. The news of Brady agreeing to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has changed the dynamic of the New England franchise and sets them in a direction for a new era.

To add to the Patriots’ competition, even their heralded tight end Rob Gronkowski has decided to come out of retirement. The three-time Super Bowl champion has decided to lace up and head to Tampa Bay for a reunion with Brady.

For now, New England would have to put their trust in Jarrett Stidham to step up as the team’s quarterback. The shoes he will have to fill are tremendous but the front office and the coaching staff have full trust in Stidham. There has been an increasing amount of support, as Bill Belichick himself believes in the 23-year-old.

But as the Patriots adjust to the new era of their football program, the top spot in the AFC East division appears to be open for the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are coming off a 10-6 record in last year’s season and they’re retooling to further improve moving forward.

The selection of young talent in the recently concluded draft shows promise for the Bills in years to come. Adding rookies such as Jake Fromm and Isaiah Hodgins to the team can prove to be pivotal for the Bills as they can hone these players' care of the mix of experience and talent in their locker room.

The duo of quarterback Josh Allen and the recently acquired wide receiver Stefon Diggs will be a boost to the team’s offense. It was Allen as the team’s starter who led the Bills last year in their first 10-win season since the 90s.

Adding the team’s overall promising talent with the athleticism of Diggs who notched 1,130 yards last season can be a good sign for the coming year in the AFC East.
