  • Multiple NFL teams are interested in signing Odell Beckham Jr. despite his ACL injury and knee surgery, a report says
  • Beckham is not expected to play NFL ball once the new season opens
  • The Rams are reportedly open to re-signing Beckham

Odell Beckham Jr. is not expected to be available when the 2022 NFL season starts, but he is hoping to return sooner than he did the last time he tore the anterior cruciate ligament his left knee, a report says.

The three-time Pro Bowler's rehab from his Feb. 22 knee surgery is progressing well, Tyler Dragon of USA Today reported, citing an unnamed source.

Beckham suffered his second ACL tear at Super Bowl LVI earlier this year. It should be noted that the last time the wide receiver suffered the same injury, it took him 11 months to return to NFL action.

The 29-year-old is unlikely to be ready by the time the 2022 NFL season starts in September. Instead, Beckham could start the coming NFL season on the reserve/physically unable to play list, NBC Sports suggested.

This would sideline him for the first six weeks, but that is subject to change.

Regardless of the things that need to be factored in when it comes to signing Beckham, multiple NFL teams are still interested in taking him in, Dragon reported. These reportedly include Beckham's former team, the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams reportedly want Beckham back, but a possible deal would depend on the health status and rehab timeline of the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Rams General Manager Les Snead suggested.

Beckham suited up for the Los Angeles Rams in the last NFL season and recorded 23 receptions for 339 yards with three scores in the postseason.

Los Angeles has already added Allen Robinson and Robert Woods via free agency. However, it appears that the Rams are still targeting Beckham, but only once there is clarity on when he can take the field once more.

Aside from the Rams, the New England Patriots also had "exploratory talks" with the 29-year-old wide receiver, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

The interest of the Patriots in Beckham is hardly surprising. When he was released by the Cleveland Browns in November 2021, the Pats tried to lure the one-time Super Bowl champion to New England.

Beckham revealed in February he had been "very, very, very, very" close to signing with the Patriots following his stint in Cleveland.
