The San Francisco 49ers remain undefeated following their 9-0 win over the Washington Redskins. They are now 6-0 but are aware that they need to fill up certain positions on the team. One area that needs attention is the wide receiver position. The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching and pundits feel the 49ers will pull the trigger.

Citing league sources, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports that the 49ers are weighing their options. Jimmy Garoppolo has been doing great. He had 151 passing yards and 137 yards on the ground against Washington.

Looking ahead, the 49ers may consider upgrades as far as their receivers are concerned. George Kittle is still around and considered one of the most dangerous receiving weapons in the NFL to date. However, San Francisco needs to add more talent to befuddle the defense of future opponents.

They do have Marquise Goodwin, Dante Pettis and Kendrick Bourne on the receiving end as well. But if they are to make a deeper run this season, a big-time pass catcher will be needed.

Several names have been suggested. There is A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals and Emmanuel Sanders of the Denver Broncos, NBC Sports reported. However, it remains to be known if both teams have interest in dealing either player.

If not, they will have to broaden their search. One player that could make sense is Mohammed Sanu of the Atlanta Falcons. Both Sanu and 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan know each other well. This goes way back to the time when Shanahan was still the offensive coordinator for the Falcons. Other names worth considering include Taylor Gabriel of the Chicago Bears and DeVante Parker of the Miami Dolphins.

It should be a pretty interesting week as the NFL trade deadline approaches. San Francisco knows they need to make a move if there is a player who can make a big difference. Expect 49ers general manager to try and pull off something. Should he be successful, the 49ers will boost their chances as being one of the favorites in the NFC.

The San Francisco 49ers will next face the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 27 at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The 49ers are six-point favorites over the Panthers in this Week 8 showdown.
