  • The Texans have no interest to trade Watson for Tagovailoa
  • Dolphins coach remains confident of Tagovailoa as their starting quarterback
  • NFL teams are wary of Watson due to several pending lawsuits

The Houston Texans are exploring trades, and one team that could make sense is the Miami Dolphins.

Unfortunately, the Dolphins may not have the right assets to pull the NFL trade trigger.

One name that has surfaced is sophomore player Tau Tagovailoa. But the problem is that the Texans have reportedly shown no interest in the 23-year-old Hawaiian, Armando Salguero of Outkick reported.

A reason behind this is because the Texans prefer a platoon of future picks. This includes three first-round picks and two second-round picks for Deshaun Watson.

Watson has aired his preference to be traded to the Dolphins although he mentioned the Carolina Panthers as another potential landing spot.

As far as Miami is concerned, getting a deal done featuring Tagovailoa appears to be a long shot.

Meanwile, Dolphins coach Brian Flores had a different stance on Tagovailoa

“I am very confident in Tua,” Flores said to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. “He has done a lot of good things. He has played well. My conversations with a player are going to remain between me and that player.”

When asked if he was interested in Watson, Flores responded by saying that is interested in players that are on the team.

Any NFL team taking in Watson knows that there are some risks involved. The 25-year-old has an ongoing sexual assault case, something that could lead to dire repercussions.

But with his legal situation expected to drag for some time, Watson can still play in the 2021-22 NFL season.

As far as focus on playing football is concerned, such raises another question for any team who may end up getting him if the Texans pull off a trade.

As a form of security, there were reportedly NFL teams who requested for pick protections should a deal for Watson be made.

Although the 12th pick of the 2017 NFL Draft is a hot target by most teams right now, his issues outside the field have undoubtedly been a cause for concern.
