Retired athletes Chuck Liddell of the UFC and Bret Lockett of the NFL squared off against each other in a photo for a good cause.

Since his terrible loss to UFC legend Tito Ortiz, not much was heard about the former UFC household name Chuck Liddell. But just recently, The Iceman hit the internet, and to everybody’s surprise, the MMA legend appears to be squaring off against retired NFL player Bret Lockett.

A photo of Liddell and Lockett has emerged online in which the two retired athletes seem to be promoting an MMA fight. In the snap, both athletes are indeed posing as if they are in an MMA fight press conference, but things are not really what they seem.

According to Sports Gossip, Liddell and Lockett came together at The Awesome Playground in Los Angeles, along with other personalities and actors, to help raise awareness for child passenger car safety at a fun red carpet event put on by Mifold, makers of portable booster seat for kids.

It only goes to show that the retired athletes are using their fame and influence for a good cause. But while it is nice to see both men in public for a good cause, some MMA fans who are still interested in seeing Liddell back in action may have been thrilled by the photo only to be a little bit disappointed in the end.

This is not the first time the former New England Patriot has been involved in some sort of PR and marketing. Back in November, Lockett has tweeted a campaign about entrepreneurship in which the former NFL American Football safety talked about motivation and inspiration.

“The most precious things on this planet are the things we can’t take with us when we leave it,” Lockett wrote.

As for Liddell, the 49-year-old MMA legend has not fought since the epic mma comeback and loss in 2018. Liddell was brutalized by his long-time UFC rival Tito Ortiz to take on the credit of the man who retired the Iceman.

UFC analyst Joe Rogan previously expressed his thoughts on the legend’s devastating loss and said that Liddell was an incredible fighter back then, but there will come a time that even a superstar will not be able to fight his style anymore, MMA Fighting reported.
