Barbie will auction a Nicki Minaj Barbie doll. Mattel

Nicki Minaj is excited that Mattel has made a Barbie Doll in her image, to auction at CharityBuzz.com on Dec. 7 and featured at Divine Design's five-day event and gala at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Bids will be received through Dec. 19 and will start at an eye-popping $1,000.

Not a bad price for a Barbie Doll.

Proceeds will benefit Project Angel Food, an organization that provides food for men, women and children affected by HIV and AIDS.

It's just a one of a kind, limited edition for charity, and so I never thought Mattel would even pay attention to me, she said on the red carpet at Billboard's Women in Music event in New York City on Friday, according to Billboard. For me this is a very major moment, because it just shows that you can come from nothing and still be a force in the main world, a business woman, and hopefully a mogul one day.

Minaj was awarded the Rising Star award at Billboard's Women in Music event in New York. But the Barbie Doll in her image was all the talk. It is a pink experience, from hair to tall boots, with a sparkly outfit and diamonds, according to Billboard.

Mattel is the maker of Barbie, and the company often does high profile dolls like Nicki Minaj for fundraisers and promotion.

Barbie is obviously a pop culture icon. She's been in the spotlight for over 50 years, and strikes that chord with girls of all ages in terms of being representative of the times. And Nicki is a big part of pop culture and also huge within the fashion industry, as well as a big Barbie fan, said Stefani Yocky, a Barbie spokeswoman, in Billboard.

The news comes on the heels of a story from MTV about a new track from the artist titled, Nicki Minaj's 'Roman in Moscow' is 'Bomb'.

'It's a shut-the-game-down record,' StreeRunner tells Mixtape Daily about just-released Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded single, MTV reports.
