Nike Special Field Air Force 1 Sneakers: When And Where To Buy The New Air Force Shoes
Fans of Nike’s inimitable Air Force 1 sneakers, rejoice: Nike’s newest generation of Air Force kicks, the Special Field Air Force 1 sneakers, will be hitting stores soon.
The iconic Nike basketball sneakers will make a comeback Saturday when they hit select retailers, High Snobiety reported Tuesday. The new SF AF-1 sneakers were designed in weather-appropriate materials, like full-grain leather and ballistic nylon. Available in the classic high-top Air Force 1 silhouette, the new SF AF-1 sneakers were designed to accommodate wear, tear and weather. The sneakers feature thick rubber soles, adjustable/removable woven ankle straps and “espionage” tongue, which features a secret pocket. The detachable ankle straps can also be removed to attach to a Special Field tote bag, which will debut alongside the new sneaker styles.
In honor of the launch, Nike tapped star basketball players Paul George, Anthony Davis, Demarcus Cousins, Isaiah Thomas and Draymond Green to appear in an ad campaign for the exclusive kicks. The new ad nods to the original Air Force 1 ad from the early ‘80s, which originally featured Moses Malone, Bobby Jones, Michael Cooper and Mychal Thompson, according to Sneaker News.
This generation of Air Force 1s will be available in both men’s and women’s styles. Men’s colorways will include a Faded Olive, Gum/Black and Gum; women’s styles will include Sail, Golden Beige, Linen and Light Bone.
The classic Air Force 1 sneakers, which were first released in 1982 and designed by Bruce Kilgore, remain some of the most highly coveted and collectible sneakers to date. They were reportedly the first Nike sneakers to hit stores with a four-digit price tag, according to Complex.
The new Nike Special Field Air Force 1 shoes will retail for $185 and will hit select Nike Sportswear retailers Nov. 5. The sneakers will also be available through the Nike SNKRS app. Finally, an exclusive style in all-white will also be available Nov. 5 and Nov. 6, exclusively at ComplexCon in Long Beach, California.
