NikkieTutorials' guesting at "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" wasn't as nice as she expected.

YouTuber Nikkie, whose real name is Nikkie de Jager, shared her experience when she appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime show. Sadly, according to her, it didn’t match her expectations.

“Call me naive, but I kind of expected to be welcomed with confetti cannons: ‘Welcome to The Ellen DeGeneres Show!’ But instead I was greeted by an angry intern who was a bit overworked,” Nikkie said in a Q&A with the Dutch publication &C. “I was expecting a Disney show, but got Teletubbies after dark.”

She added that she was disappointed when she asked to use the comfort room because she was advised to use the public restroom, but the other guests had a “private toilet.”

“I was not allowed to use the nearest toilet, because it was reserved for the Jonas Brothers. Why do they get a private toilet, I thought,” the 26-year-old recalled.

Nikkie appreciated the opportunity but felt that it left her fans wanting more. Although she was “happy with the experience” it “wasn’t as nice” as what she expected.

“It's nice that you say 'hi' before the show... she didn't. Ellen is just such a different world,” she said.

She was also asked if DeGeneres was “distant and cold,” she responded with “just a little.”

“It was a huge honor to be on that stage with Ellen, but it wasn't as nice as I thought,” she added.

Nikkie learned her lesson and jokingly said that she hoped to meet Adele one day but had a change of heart.

“After Ellen I figured, don't meet your idol,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, the crew of the show was reportedly furious because the producers haven’t addressed their concerns for over a month since the lockdown. They also didn’t receive any written communication about their working hours or pay. They said that the treatment toward them was “totally inconsistent” of the host’s daily message to her audiences to “be kind.”

Warner Bros. Television, which distributes the show, addressed the concerns. According to the spokesperson, the producers are committed to taking care of their staff and crew. Also, according to the rep, the crew has been paid consistently though at reduced hours.

The show has already returned to the small screen. DeGeneres tapes new episodes remotely from her home.
