Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder’s split rocked the “Vampire Diaries” fandom, but the 24-year-old actress says the demise of her romance with her longtime co-star hasn't rattled her. During a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, the CW darling commented for the first time on her parting of ways with her on-screen love interest, saying the monumental split doesn’t “define” her.

“People aren't defined by their relationship,” Dobrev told the magazine via Us Weekly. “The whole point is being true to yourself and not losing yourself in relationships, whether romances or friendships,” she said.

Despite her new single status, the “Vampire Diaries” star says she isn’t interested in hitting the town. “I'm not a one-night-stand kind of girl. I'm a relationship girl,” she said, claiming she is particular about finding specific traits in her better half. “A lot of what attracts me is a guy's mind and humor and talent… A man in a suit looking put together and dapper is very attractive, but I also kind of like the I-just-rolled-out-of-bed, a-little-bit-of-scruff, effortless, not-trying-hard-but-still-sexy guy," she said.

Like his former girlfriend, Somerhalder also shared his own ideal woman during an interview with Women’s Health magazine in July. “When someone can dance or you have rhythm with someone, it’s really sexy,” said the 34-year-old actor, who also dished on his affinity for bedroom wear. “Lingerie,” he said. “But when it’s off [and] crumpled up on the floor.”

The pair was last spotted together at Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego last month and were reported as being awkward around one another during press interviews. “Ian showed up, and Nina showed up shortly after. She saw Ian was right in front of her and went away, then came back a little later so they were spaced out a bit more during press-line interviews,” a source revealed to E! News. Despite the claims, candid and professional shots of the famous duo did not properly reflect the reports.

MTV “Teen Wolf” star and friend of the couple, Colton Hayes, 25, was the first to confirm the couple’s split in June during an interview with Entertainmentwise.
