Nina Dobrev, Zedd Dating Rumors: Former ‘Vampire Diaries’ Star 'Doesn’t Want To Upset' Selena Gomez

Nina Dobrev and Anton Zaslavski, better known by his stage name Zedd, posted a selfie on their Instagram accounts on Monday, giving rise to speculation that the two may be dating. A source told Hollywood Life that Selena Gomez's former boyfriend is interested in Dobrev.

However, the source also claimed that the two are just “friends right now” because Dobrev, who is a close friend of Gomez, does not want her to be upset. Zedd and Dobrev sparked dating rumors just a month after the Russian-German musician split with Gomez.

“They are friends right now mostly because of different fears. Zedd thinks Nina is hot and would date her in a heartbeat. A few things are holding stuff back. He is scared to be in the tabloids again and she doesn’t want to upset Selena,” the source told Hollywood Life.

Zedd, who reportedly did not like the media attention he received after his highly publicized relationship with Gomez, posted the selfie with Dobrev writing: “Thank you for teaching me your selfie tricks @ninadobrev . My eyes couldn't find the camera lens though.”

The former “The Vampire Diaries” star was previously with Ian Somerhalder. They broke up in 2013 after more than three years of dating. In April, Somerhalder married "Twilight" star Nikki Reed at the Tuscali Mountain Inn in Topanga, California.
