Noah Centineo Joins Jim Carrey’s Twitter Challenge While Social Distancing
Jim Carrey is on the “cutting edge” of entertainment...at least usually. His new social media trend encouraging people not to cut anything and grow out their beards has attracted the attention of none other than teen heartthrob Noah Centineo.
Centineo replied to Carrey’s tweet Tuesday with a video of himself walking outside, a dog running around his feet, facial hair intact. In the video, he can be heard excitedly yelling “Yes!” while pointing at his face.

Carrey’s initial tweet from Monday with #letsgrowtogether enlightened fans on his plan to grow facial hair while many people remain at home, through social distancing practices because of COVID-19. Carrey joked that he will “conquer the uncutting edge” of entertainment and will be regularly updating fans on the progress of his beard.
Day 1. I’m growing a beard until we all go back to work. I’ll post reg pics so you can marvel at the miracle of my meaningless transformation. Normally, I try to stay on the cutting edge of entertainment. Now I shall conquer the uncutting edge. Please join me. #letsgrowtogether pic.twitter.com/UaLQjwlGfh

While Carrey is a seasoned veteran at acting, playing a variety of roles throughout his career--most recently the lead character on his co-executive produced Showtime show, “Kidding”--Centineo’s known for playing teenagers. The 23-year-old is often clean-shaven in his roles, most notably as the love interest in Netflix’s “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and its recent February 2020 sequel, “To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.”

Centineo isn’t the only celebrity to respond to Carrey’s facial hair challenge. “Game of Thrones” actor Maisie Williams replied joking she had her own interpretation of the challenge.
