HMD Global is expected to launch two more handsets this year called Nokia 7 and Nokia 8. Source have indicated that both phones will come with better displays and faster processors.

HMD Global’s Nokia 3, 5 and 6 were all fantastic new Android smartphones, but all three were made for budget conscious consumers. The Nokia 7 and 8 will step it up a bit by having metal unibodies with thinner bezels, according to Techno Buffalo.

The Nokia 7 is said to be the smaller of the two with a display resolution of 1080p full HD. The Nokia 8 on the other hand will have a larger screen with a sharper 1440p quad HD display resolution. Both handsets will have fingerprint sensors and a fast charging, as reported by NokiaPowerUser.

For internals, sources say that both handsets will feature the new Snapdragon 660 chip, the successor to the SD 653. Apparently, neither device will be the rumored flagship Nokia smartphone with the Snapdragon 835 processor. It’s now possible that the flagship handset will be called the Nokia 9.

Still, Qualcomm’s SD 660 is expected to perform well as it will feature eight cores and will be paired with an Adreno 512 GPU. For memory, the devices are said to come with LPDDR4 RAM and fast UFS storage. However, there’s still no information on how many gigabytes the RAM and onboard storage will have.

The cameras on the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 are also said to be vastly different from the ones found on the Nokia 3, 5 and 6. It’s also being speculated that the Nokia 8’s camera might feature Carl Zeiss lenses, as pointed out by GSM Arena.

As for when these new handset will be released, rumors suggest the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 might be unveiled sometime in May or early June. There’s also a slim chance that HMD Global might unveil the Nokia 9 at around the same time.
