A certified nursing assistant at a Texas living facility was charged with sexually assaulting a 69-year-old partially paralyzed female patient.

Mark Countryman, 60, who was employed at Lawrence Street Health Care Center was taken into custody by police and charged with aggravated “sexual assault of an elderly or disabled person.”

According to court documents, the victim is partially paralyzed after suffering from three strokes and cannot move her hands and legs without assistance.

The victim told police that on Jan. 17, 2019, Countryman told her it was time for her shower. He then told her that “he had been dreaming about her being a good kisser.”

Countryman then leaned toward her as if he was about to kiss her. She, however, moved away. He then sexually assaulted her and made contact with her private parts, ABC 13 reported.

He also forced her to touch him, but she refused. Countryman told her not to tell anyone about the incident as he could get in trouble.

When questioned by police the following week, Countryman admitted to telling the woman about having a dream.

Sgt. Brandon Patin with the Tomball Police Department said, “He is no longer an employee there. They state that they do not tolerate it. They state they are also in regulation with everything with whatever code they need to be with the state.”

Click 2 Houston reported the accused in jail on a $50,000 bond.

In a similar incident earlier this month, a certified nursing assistant was accused of sexually assaulting her 62-year-old female patient in Rhode Island.

Debra Good sexually assaulted the patient, who is paralyzed from the chest down, several times between July and October 2018. Her nursing license was temporarily suspended and she was charged with “two counts of felony sexual assault and one count of simple assault and battery.” Her court hearing is due for Feb. 11, 2019, CBS-affiliated television station WKBN reported.

In another incident earlier this month, an Arizona nurse was arrested after an incapacitated woman gave birth at a long-term care facility. Phoenix detectives collected DNA samples from the male employees at the Hacienda facility and arrested 36-year-old Nathan Dorceus Sutherland, after the DNA sample obtained from him matched that of the baby. The investigation is ongoing and officials are trying to find out how many times the victim had been assaulted.

Attorney John Micheaels issued a statement on behalf of the victim’s family stating “The family and I are aware of the recent arrest of a Hacienda employee by the Phoenix Police Department. At this time, neither the family nor I wish to comment any further on this matter.”
