Obama And Mitt Romney Save The Country Music Awards
No, the two presidential candidates didn't exactly save the Country Music Awards Wednesday night. They did, however, participate in an opening skit that could be interpreted as hilarious or awkward, depending on your taste.
Country music star Toby Keith and actress Kristen Bell pretended to fight about sharing the spotlight leading up to their co-hosting gig at the awards show. In a video introduction to the big awards night in Nashville, the two duked it out in the style of mock campaign ads.
That's when President Barack Obama and Republican rival Mitt Romney stepped in.
This is one of the toughest decisions I've had to make since I've been in office, Obama said from the Oval Office before circling both the Toby and Kristen ballots on his desk.
In a video message, Romney jokes the politics of the CMT music awards are even tougher than the election.
I propose Toby and Kristen co-host the show, Romney said from backstage at an unknown location. See? I just put two people back to work. You're welcome, America.
