Obama, Romney Make Little Girl Cry; Bronco Bamma And Mitt Romney Video Goes Viral, NPR Apologizes
A video of a 4-year-old Colorado girl crying because she is tired of the frequent mention in the media about the U.S. presidential elections has gone viral on YouTube.
The U.S. media is bombarding the citizens with news and ads on the presidential candidates, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, as the November 6 election date is nearing. Abigael Evans had enough of hearing the names Barack Obama and Mitt Romney and apparently burst into tears while listening to an election bulletin on NPR.
Her mother Elizabeth Evans, 27, posted a 22-second video on YouTube with the title “Tired of Bronco Bamma and Mitt Romney” showing the little girl in tears and telling she is fed up with elections.
The YouTube video shows the little girl saying her mother; “I’m tired of Bronco Bamma and Mitt Romney.” Her mother tries to comfort her telling “It’ll be over soon Abby. The election will be over soon,” and with a teary face replies ‘O.K.”
After learning about the little girl’s experience, NPR issued a written apology in a blog post titled “Dear Little Girl: Sorry We Made You Cry About ‘Bronco Bamma’ And Mitt Romney”.
“On behalf of NPR and all other news outlets, we apologize to Abigael and all the many others who probably feel like her. We must confess, the campaign’s gone on long enough for us, too. Let’s just keep telling ourselves: ‘Only a few more days, only a few more days, only a few more days’,” the post said.
The video posted on YouTube Oct.30 has got about one million views in two days and is being shared on the social networking sites.
