Oklahoma Woman Kills Fellow Camper With Machete, Arrested
A woman from Midwest City, Oklahoma, who killed another woman using a machete, has been arrested.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Anisha Mackey, was arrested Friday (May 8) night after officers responded to a home on 724 North of Midwest Boulevard near NE 10th street and found 45-year-old Patty Perdue dead inside a small camper in the backyard of the home.
The officers also found Mackey in the crime scene who had arrived at the home earlier with her baby.
According to the police, the victim, Mackey and two other people were inside the camper when the shocking incident took place. Witnesses told the officers that Mackey allegedly started behaving strangely and picked up a large machete and began swinging it at Perdue.
The other two people managed to escape from the camper. They told police that they could hear Perdue yelling for help. The identity of the two people who were inside the camper was not revealed. The motive behind the slaying was also unknown at the moment.
An investigation was ongoing and no further details were revealed.
Mackey was arrested for murder and was booked into the Oklahoma County jail. Her child was handed over to a close relative.
In a similar incident, a man armed with a machete hacked his wife to death during a Facebook Live stream. The suspect, identified as 32-year old Obaidul Haque Tutul, hailing from Bangladesh, attacked his 28-year-old wife, Tahmina Akhter, with a machete because his in-laws failed to give him more dowry. He recorded the whole incident on his phone when he live-streamed himself committing the crime.
The couple got married five years ago and had a daughter who was one and half years old. They often had altercations over the family's financial crisis. Tutul repeatedly asked his wife for more dowry. But when she denied one day, Tutul hacked her in front of hundreds of live viewers. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
