‘One Day At A Time’ Season 3 Cast: 4 Famous Guest Stars Appearing

“One Day at a Time” finally returns to Netflix on Friday, and the family is expanding. Expect plenty of new guest stars in Season 3, including a few who will look very familiar.

Gloria Estefan — The “One Day at a Time” theme song singer will appear as Mirtha, Lydia’s (Rita Moreno) estranged sister. The Grammy Award winner has previously appeared on “Jane the Virgin” and “Glee.”

Stephanie Beatriz — The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star plays one of Penelope’s (Justina Machado) cousins, Pilar. She is a lesbian, so expect her to do some bonding with Penelope’s daughter Elena (Isabella Gomez). Beatriz was also in the movie “Half Magic,” and her voice has appeared on “BoJack Horseman.”

Melissa Fumero — “One Day at a Time” adds another “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star. Fumero will play Estellita, Mirtha’s daughter and one of Penelope’s cousins. Soap opera fans might also recognize the actress from “One Life to Live.”

India de Beaufort — This is one new character who isn’t related to the Alvarez family. The “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” star will recur in Season 3 as Avery, Schneider’s (Todd Grinnell) new love interest. Off-screen, Grinnell and de Beaufort have been married since 2015. Fans will recognize her from “Veep,” “Younger” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.”

Expect plenty of other guest stars too. Showrunner Gloria Calderon Kellett appears as Victor’s (James Martinez) new love, Nicole, but Penelope will find a new love too. Alex Quijano plays Mateo, another parent at school who is friends with Penelope. Expect some sparks to fly between them.
