‘One Piece’ 1003 Spoilers: Creator Seemingly Hints At This Character's Monstrous New Power-Up

Following the momentous release of its 100th chapter, the extremely popular manga “One Piece” continues to interest fans with its explosive battles and interesting characters. The latest spoilers for “One Piece” Chapter 1003 reveal that Luffy could no longer use his Gear 4 form. Apparently, Eiichiro Oda, the legendary mangaka behind the manga, recently hinted that Luffy might achieve his Gear 5 form.

The latest information was shared on Twitter by user SoulStormOP. It appears that the details came from SBS Volume 78. The insider believes that Oda hinted at the appearance of Luffy’s Gear 5 form to beat the most powerful creature in the world, Kaido. The insider also admitted that the mangaka’s answer was indirectly stated. However, the fact that he acknowledged the form is already great news for fans.

Twitter user Papadight shared the details of the said interview on SBS Volume 78. Apparently, Eiichiro Oda was asked if Luffy would activate Gear 5 after Gear 4. Oda jokingly said in response, “Indeed will there ever be a Gear 5th? After all, the enemy that must be defeated now is the stronger creature in the world! The world is also transitioning from 4G to 5G. G means gear right?”

It is clear that Oda acknowledges that Luffy is fighting one of the most powerful opponents he has created. His statement about transition could be a hint that fans might possibly see this more powerful form soon in the manga. In the latest spoilers shared by some Korean insiders in the community, it reveals that after launching multiple devastating attacks in his Gear 4 form, Luffy has to wait for for 10 minutes before he could use his haki.

If this is an indication that after his 10-minute rest, Luffy will showcase his Gear 5 form, it's not yet known although fans are hoping that it will happen. With Luffy’s inability to use haki, other characters like Trafalgar D. Law, Killer, Kidd and Zoro step up.
