'One Piece' 1017 Raw Scans Tease Dark Secrets Of Luffy's Devil Fruit

The spoilers and raw scans for "One Piece" 1017 are now available online, and they tease Luffy's Devil Fruit and the dark secrets it holds.

"One Piece" community insiders, such as Redon, have made sure the unofficial summary of "One Piece" 1017 along with the raw scans are available online.

The spoilers revealed there is more to Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi Devil Fruit than what was previously revealed in the manga. Apparently, it is the reason why Whos Who, one of the members of the Tobi Roppo, was removed from his post as part of the CP9 and was sent to Impel Down.

Before Luffy has eaten the devil fruit, the spoilers suggested it is in the possession of the CP9. Luffy's Devil Fruit apparently is of great importance to the World Government. According to the spoilers, the Tobi Roppo member was punished because the Devil Fruit Gomu Gomu No Mi was stolen.

After he was incarcerated at one of the deadliest prisons in the world, Whos Who managed to escape. In the upcoming manga installment, the Tobi Roppo member tells Jinbei he was surprised when a rookie pirate appeared a couple of years ago, showing signs he had eaten the Gomu Gomu No Mi.

There are a lot of fan theories about Luffy's devil fruit after the spoilers surfaced online.

Some claimed the Gomu Gomu No Mi is the mystical devil fruit of the Joyboy prophecy. Others believed it is one of the reasons why Shanks was shown visiting Mariejois. However, many fans forget that CP9 actually hordes Devil Fruits to give them to their best agents.

Fans saw this during the Enies Lobby arc when Spandam handed two devil fruits to Kalifa and Kaku. Whos Who lost a precious cargo on his watch and, understandably, it cost him his job and freedom. The most likely scenario that might happen in the upcoming chapters of "One Piece" is a flashback about Shanks and his crew.

About 13 years ago, the Gomu Gomu No Mi was stolen by Lucky Roux, the combatant of the Red Hair Pirates. It appears that neither Lucky Roux (the pirate always seen eating a rack of meat) nor any of Shank's crew is interested in the fruit. They were likely influenced by their captain's belief that they would lose their ability to swim when they eat the devil fruit. So, for several years, the devil fruit was stored in the chest.

"One Piece 1017" officially releases on June 27. The upcoming chapter is titled "Order."
