"One Piece" 965 showcases the much-awaited fight between two formidable legends of the series as well as interesting details on how Korozumi Orochi plotted and achieved his dream of becoming the Shogun of the Land of Wano.

"One Piece" 965 features many interesting events that happened while Kozuki Oden travels with the Whitebeard Pirates. The anime shows the birth of Hyori and the growing popularity of a samurai from Wano that caught the attention of the Pirate King himself, Gol D. Roger. The current episode takes fans a couple of decades back to that fateful day when Oden finally meets Roger and the rest of his crew.

As always, Oden is excited to explore the island as soon as their boat touches the ground. He runs toward the Roger Pirates' crew and easily defeated some of them. Oden is about to face Rayleigh when Roger runs past his crew because he wants to fight the samurai and perhaps would like to see if stories about him is true.

Roger lets out his Kamusari attack, holding the sword in his right hand and smoothly swinging it towards Oden. The attack creates a forceful slash, which hits Oden in the torso. It is so powerful that it not only overwhelms Oden's two-sword style but also sends him at a great distance backward. Fans could count at least seven trees that Oden destroyed when he receives Roger's Divine Departure attack.

The final scenes tease Whitebeard and Roger finally face each other on that island. The recent "One Piece" anime showcasing Oden's flashback is an unrelenting series of installments showing fans the characters' prime years that built the great pirate era's foundation.

Meanwhile, "One Piece" 965 shows how Orochi patiently plots to snatch the shogunate from Kozuki Sukiyaki with the assistance of Higurashi. The latest episode also highlights Orochi running away from some pursuers before meeting Semimaru and Higurashi in an abandoned house and later eating his Devil Fruit. Before turning back from his form, the anime shortly changesHigurashi into a younger version of Shiki.
